Bonding is a direct restoration with composite material, built up on the tooth layer by layer and cured with light. Matched precisely to the colour of your teeth, it blends in invisibly.

The method solves a wide range of aesthetic problems quickly and gently - in most cases you leave your very first appointment with your new smile already in place.

What bonding can correct

Composite build-up is suitable for:

  • Broken or chipped teeth - restoring the biting edge
  • Gappy teeth and closing a diastema (the gap between the front teeth)
  • Slightly crooked teeth - a visual correction of the shape
  • Discolouration that does not respond to whitening
  • Decayed teeth - an aesthetic restoration after the decay is cleaned out

What happens during the visit

The tooth surface is carefully prepared, then the composite is applied and sculpted in thin layers. Each layer is cured with a special lamp, and finally the restoration is shaped and polished to a natural shine. In most cases not even an anaesthetic is needed.

The advantages of bonding

The reason so many patients choose bonding is its simplicity:

  • No drilling - healthy tooth structure is fully preserved
  • One visit - you arrive and leave with a new smile the same day
  • Reversibility - the material can be adjusted or replaced at any time
  • As gentle as it gets - usually no anaesthetic and no discomfort

Frequently asked questions

Does the procedure hurt?

No. Bonding does not touch healthy tooth structure, so in most cases not even an anaesthetic is needed. If we are restoring a tooth after decay, we work under local anaesthetic and you feel nothing.

How long does bonding last?

With good hygiene - for years. Composite is softer than ceramic, so it is best to avoid biting hard objects. If needed, the restoration is easily refreshed or adjusted without starting over.

Bonding or veneers - which is right for me?

Bonding is ideal for smaller corrections - a chipped edge, a diastema, individual teeth. For a more extensive change of colour and shape across several teeth, porcelain veneers give a longer-lasting result. We will advise you honestly at the consultation.

How much does bonding cost?

It depends on the number of teeth and the complexity of the build-up. The current prices are in our price list, and you will get an exact figure after a short examination.
